Tsvetomira has headed the Bulgarian branch of Zivko Mijatovic & Partners since 2008. She holds a master’s in IP management and her knowledge of intellectual property has both broadened and deepened extensively over her more than 15 years of experience in the field, including as a trainee with the EUIPO.
She handles all procedures before the Bulgarian Patent Office with a particular focus on opposition and cancellation cases. Her practice also covers trademark infringement matters. She has gained thorough experience in negotiating with third parties in various scenarios in order to reach settlements for her clients and avoid long and costly procedures before the courts or the Patent Office.
Other areas of expertise and specialisation include enforcement matters in Bulgaria, such as anti-counterfeiting, including customs applications and actions where she represents large international clients.
Tsvetomira also advises clients on trademark portfolio strategy and clearance searches.
She has worked for many years in an international environment and as a result has gained good knowledge of the trademark legislation and practice in a number of jurisdictions, in particular of central eastern Europe countries. She frequently participates in the firm’s multi-jurisdictional programmes.
